New President, but not a new face: Joe Weiner to take over as Metrum’s President

The hiring of Joe Weiner as Metrum Community Credit Union’s new president means the continuation of our organization’s best services and expansion into new areas of personal finance.

There’s no doubt that Steve Kelly is leaving big shoes to fill, but the decision to hire Joe was something of a no-brainer: he’s served as vice-chair of Metrum’s Board of Directors for the past eight years and has been a member of the credit union for 42 years.

His institutional knowledge is a tremendous asset, and the personal and professional relationship between he and Steve ensures that our team — and our members — will see a seamless transition of leadership.

Joe has more than 40 years of experience in running multi-country programs within the recruitment and staffing fields. He’s overseen large teams of people and programs that generate millions of dollars in revenue.  “I’m taking what Steve has done over the past 32 years and will continue to grow Metrum Credit Union in that light, while bringing a new vision for how we can get there,” he said.

Joe’s goal is to have Metrum provide a broader spectrum of services, including financial planning and the handling of trusts and estates. He also looks forward to boosting Metrum’s marketing efforts to attract new members and grow the organization’s presence in Colorado.

In keeping with tradition, Joe will be supporting the team’s diligent efforts to provide top-notch day-to-day services and will rely on their “in-depth knowledge” to continue carrying Metrum into the future. Joe says he knows first-hand the satisfaction that comes with being a Metrum member and feeling that his financial needs are being met and his expectations exceeded.  “I could never see banking anywhere else,” said Joe, a Colorado native and a married father of two adult sons.

In his free time, Joe enjoys going up to the mountains with his family and riding bikes, hiking, skiing, golfing and taking walks with his wife and their dog, Otis.
