We all know that there are many benefits to managing money:
- Free up time = Do the things you enjoy
- Less stress = Better health
- Achieve goals = Satisfaction
- Greater control = Peace of mind
The main thing is that knowing where you are and where you want to be is key to any successful plan. The best way to get where you want to go is to set specific goals to get there.
An example of a specific goal to set is paying off a credit card.
You can say “I want to pay off my credit card”, but that isn’t specific enough to tell you how or when. Setting a specific goal will be a SMART Goal (Specific, Measurable, Adjustable, Realistic and Time oriented). So, then you can say “I will pay off my credit card debt of $1,200 within 12 months by taking lunch to work instead of eating out, and drinking regular coffee instead of the purchased latte daily. ”
